Wilco Fencing (229) 921-4081

Home / Atlanta

Fence company serving Metro Atlanta.

Red clay, mature tree roots, and back yards that fall away from the house. Metro Atlanta lots are rarely simple.

We install inside and outside the Perimeter — Atlanta, Marietta, Alpharetta, Roswell, Sandy Springs, Decatur, Kennesaw, and Woodstock. Between older neighborhoods with big trees and newer subdivisions on cut-and-fill lots, layout is where most of the value gets added here.

Local conditions

What actually changes the job here.

Georgia red clay

Clay holds a post well, which is good, but it also holds water. Concrete collars need to shed water away from the post rather than form a bowl around it, or the post rots at grade.

Mature tree roots

Older neighborhoods have root systems that make a straight post line impossible to dig. Sometimes the fix is shifting the line a foot, sometimes it is a different post spacing. Either way we would rather solve it at the estimate.

Steep back yards

Cut-and-fill subdivisions leave sharp drops behind the house. Aluminum racks to follow that grade with the fewest gaps; vinyl has to step.

Pool barrier code

Pool enclosures get inspected. Self-closing and self-latching gates, latch height, and picket spacing all have to be right the first time. We build to it and tell you what your jurisdiction will look for.

Common questions

Local questions we get.

Do I need a permit for a fence in Atlanta?

It depends on the city or county and on the height. Some jurisdictions require one, some do not, and some only above a certain height. We check your address before the job is scheduled.

Can you fence around big trees?

Usually, yes. We may need to shift the line or adjust post spacing to miss major roots. Cutting through structural roots to save a straight line is not a trade we recommend.

Do you do pool fences?

Yes, aluminum pool enclosures are steady work for us. We build to barrier requirements for gate hardware, latch height, and picket spacing.

Will you match my neighbor's fence?

Often we can. Send photos and we will identify the style and height, which also helps if your HOA expects continuity down the street.
