It is a short run across the river from our Savannah crews, and the conditions are similar — sandy coastal soil and salt in the air — with one extra layer: Hilton Head and its gated communities run architectural review that is stricter than almost anywhere else we work.

Island design review
Hilton Head and its plantations — Sea Pines, Hilton Head Plantation, Palmetto Dunes, and the rest — enforce covenants on fence material, color, height, and even how much stays hidden behind landscaping. We spec the fence to the community's guidelines and give you the drawing to submit.
Salt air and humidity
Coastal air is hard on untreated steel. Aluminum and vinyl handle it without complaint, and vinyl-coated chain link outlasts galvanized near the water. It is why so much Lowcountry fence is black aluminum.
Sandy soil
Same story as Savannah — sand does not hold a post like clay. Gate and corner posts get extra depth and concrete so a gate does not start dragging within the year.
Wooded and marsh-front lots
Live oaks and marsh buffers shape where a fence can actually go. Many communities also require you to keep the natural buffer, so the line has to be planned around it, not through it.

Do you handle Hilton Head community approval?
We prepare the packet the architectural review board expects — a site plan with the fence line, plus material, color, and height. Each plantation has its own guidelines, so send us yours and we will spec to them before quoting.
What fence holds up best near the water?
Aluminum for the corrosion resistance and the view, vinyl for privacy. Both shrug off salt air far better than steel or untreated wood, which is why they dominate Lowcountry installs.
Are you local to Hilton Head?
We run Lowcountry work off our Savannah operation, just across the river. Same crews, same standards, quick to get to Bluffton and Hilton Head for an estimate.
Can you do commercial and resort property?
Yes. Coastal commercial and resort fence — including ornamental aluminum and pool enclosures — is regular work for us on both sides of the state line.
